Electro-chemistry-based products are created via an electrolytic cell or electrode, where pure salt and water solutions are passed through an electromagnetic field. The result is a series of highly energized water-based solutions that are often faster-acting at lower chemical concentrations than traditional chemical formulas.

Virtually any environment will benefit from the use of 4th Method’s products, including Electro-Biocide disinfectant, as the solutions are both highly effective and inherently safe. It should also be noted that, while chlorine dioxide does contain a chlorine atom like bleach (NaOCl) or hypochlorous acid (HOCl), the oxygen atoms are the active parts of the formula, so halogenation of organic materials is not an issue as it is with other chlorine-containing compounds. 

4th Method’s products, such as Electro-Biocide, are very safe to use, and can be used in areas where children, elderly people or pets are present. The products quickly dissipate and dry, and leave behind no potentially hazardous residues like those resulting from the use of quaternary ammonium (quat) products. Electro-Biocide is a rare breed of disinfectant, one that is able to kill pathogens in only 60 seconds while also achieving EPA’s lowest toxicity rating, Category IV, via all routes of exposure. This category is termed “practically non-toxic and not a sensitizer”, and no warning or caution words are required.

Electro-Biocide can be used around sensitive electronics, and have been shown to not damage touch screens, plastics and metal surfaces. It should be noted that Electro-Biocide is a water-based formula, so care must be taken around powered electronics and electrical systems.
